Features of Cardiovascular Development and Respiratory System in Students 18-22 Years Old

Abstract

The study purpose – determine the age-related features of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems of women in the 1st-5th courses of Higher Education.

Materials and methods. The study involved 200 female students: 1st year (n = 44); 2nd year (n = 38); 3rd year (n =42); 4th year (n = 44); 5th year (n = 32). To solve the tasks set, the following research methods were used: analysis of scientific, methodological and medical literature, pedagogical observation, index method, medical and biological methods, ascertaining experiment and methods of mathematical statistics.

Results. The study found that at the age of 19, there is a significant deterioration in the results of breath retention in Shtange test (49 s) and Genchi test (38 s) (Р<0,05). At the age of 21, the Rufier index decreases (12,4– «satisfactory») and the average pulse value after exercise (34,7), at the same time there is a decrease in heart rate (25,8) after the standard recovery pause (Р<0,05). This indicates that during this period, the most successful compensatory processes of cardiovascular activity occur. In 21-22 years (4-5 years), there is an increase in pulse beats to the load (), the Genchi indicator sample improves. This indicates that with age, women show characteristic signs of heterochrony and sensitivity of the functional state of the body.

Conclusions. According to the results of a comparative analysis of functional readiness for the assessment of the cardiovascular system among women of the 1st-5th courses, it is observed that with age the number of female students increases with the result of evaluating the Rufier index "satisfactory" (59,4%), and the indicator "good" (15,6%) heart decreases. The age period of 18-22 years is characterized by signs of heterochrony and sensitivity of the development of functional systems of the body, women demonstrate the best heart rate indicators at 21 years and respiratory retention in hypoxia at 22 years.
